If you need to get out of a potentially painstaking conversation with someone or just need an excuse to get out of the house The Popularity Dialer might have the solution you need. The Popularity Dialer allows you to select one of five prerecorded calls to have sent to your phone at a specified time. The recording will play and you could place it on speaker phone to make your excuse more believable. The system allows one call per hour to be placed to a single telephone number to avoid pranksters from running a denial of service attack on your phone. You can also add your number to the do not call list to opt out from any calls from the service. The service includes a popularity call, female popularity call, affirmation call, return to the office call and a cousin in need call.
Sprint’s website features a “Check Upgrade Eligibility” link that might reveal your personal information to anyone with your phone number and billing zip code. Simply enter your information here and see if your information has been compromised. This is just one more reason you should not use Sprint as a wireless provider.
I made a quick video tutorial on how to use any AC adapter to power low voltage electronics. NOTE: I am not responsible for any damage to your electronics. This video is for informational purposes only.
Ok this is a tip I have used for years to reduce my cell phone bill. Actually I haven’t had to put it into practice much since I left a certain unnamed PCS provider.
In short you just waste their time on the phone untill it costs them money then reap the benifits.
First off I would just like to appologize to my readers for my lack of fresh posts. I have been working on multiple projects. With that said here is a new tip for all you MSN messenger fans.
I have yet to try this method. It just sort of came to me the other day so i decided to write it down.
My cellphone has an email address and no I will not post it. But it looks something like this XXXXXXXXXX@email.uscc.net where the X represents the number. Now there are several different email domains for different providers and I have drummed up a list of them and provide it at the bottom of this post.
Skype has turned out to be a pretty useful tool. With more and more uses becoming evident with each day. A friend of mine Nick Saramandich recently showed me how to easily check your cellular voice mail using skype. The advantage to this method as opposed to traditional methods is the comfort factor. Listening to your messages with skype allows you to relax in your favorite chair, sofa etc. and thoroughly absorb the real content contained within the messages. The latter method just leaves your ear ringing and sweaty and leaves much to be desired on the comfort side of things.
Now you can get gps directions anywhere from your cellphone. Google Mobile Maps is the latest tool from Google featuring the familiar Google Maps interface in the palm of your hand. To use Google Mobile Maps point your mobile phones web browser to http://www.google.com/gmm and download the free software. Then you only pay for the data transfer fee from your provider. You can usually get a plan to lower the cost of data transmission. For full instructions and an online tour visit http://www.google.com/gmm

As some of the readers know I also work full time as a cellular agent for U.S. Cellular. Every day or two someone comes to me and say’s I would like to buy a cell phone to have in my car in case of an emergency. They also tell me that they don’t want to pay $40 a month to have this added bit of comfort when on the road.
Many people don’t know that the FCC regulates cell phones and has mandated that all cell phones regardless of current service status will be allowed to dial 911. You also have the option to bill your call to a credit card the next time your out of gas or similar.
Now before you go out and get yourself a 911 phone let me give you some insight on the limitations of dialing 911 from a disconnected cell phone. If you do not have a signal you may encounter complications when placing your call. Also be sure to state your location (as best you can) to ensure the dispatcher knows where to send assistance. When you call 911 from a disconnected cell phone no CID (or Caller Identification Data) is sent as with landline 911 calls. Another tip is to keep a good charge on the phone and have it powered off in the glove box. In addition you may also want to purchase a battery boost. This will give you an emergency reserve battery supply incase you are stranded for a prolonged period of time. The battery boost or cell boost are relatively cheap and can be purchased at most Radio Shack stores.

The goal of this article is to enlighten you to the concept of backing up/modifying data from your mobile phone (e.g. Contacts, Picture(s), Video(s), etc). Using a free open source tool called bitpim and a data cable you can easily download and edit your mobile phones contents.
If you have ever had the joy of switching cell phones only to find that all your contacts will now have to be added to the new phone by hand then this article is for you. Bitpim allows you to easily update, add and delete contacts from your phone book using your computer. Compare that to using the keypad of your phone to update you 1000 contacts in your new Motorola Razor phone. You can also save your phonebook and anything else you fancy to your hard drive and then upload it to a different phone. This is extremely useful if you have developed a nice list of contacts in outlook and want to quickly transfer them to your mobile phone. Also an additional feature to Bitpim is it’s ability to add calendar events to your phone using a computer.
First things first check if your phone is supported by Bitpim you can do so by reading the supported phones list here.
Then you just connect your mobile phone to your computer, launch Bitpim, select your phone from the drop down menu in the software’s interface and browse through the data. I wont go into details explaining how to use Bitpim they have already done the work for me here http://www.bitpim.org .

Ok Sprint is the worst carrier I have ever found. So if you’re unfortunate enough to be with Sprint I hope to brighten your day with this article. Ok so here’s the thing Sprint offers free mobile to mobile service to PCS subscribers. On the other hand they charge you for calling and retrieving your voicemail from the CLAIRE system (CLAIRE is the annoying teleprompt voice system at Sprint). So here is how you go about getting what’s rightfully your’s “Your Voicemail Messagesâ€. The concept of this hack is that when Sprint detects you are making a Sprint to Sprint call meaning both lines are Sprint lines it considers your call free as mentioned above.
What you will need
1. A Sprint PCS phone
2. A friends or anyone’s Sprint PCS number (Must be active and must be Sprint)
3. About five minutes of FREE time whatever that is. LOL
Instructions
Dial 11 + area code + PCS Number then insert 2 two second pauses then ** then one more 2 second pause you may have to activate some sort of options menu depending on your phone model. My Samsung I had when I was on Sprint had an insert menu when in dialing mode. Anyway you should now have something like 11 (Area Code) + (Sprint Number) PP** now add your number area code first to the end of the string of digits then add a pound sign #. You should now have something like this 115555555555 P P ** P 555-555-1212# (example number is 555-555-5555 and second number the other persons number is 555-555-1212 for example purposes) this last part is optional and not recommended but to automate putting in your password you can just add one more 2 second pause to the string right after # and enter in the digits that make up your password. Now simply save it as vmail or whatever in your phone and use that number to call for your voicemail. If you didn’t add your password to the end just wait until you are asked for a password. If you did everything right you should get your mail. Good luck and if your bill severely drops in the next billing cycle ask Sprint why they advertise Free voicemail and then charge you minutes to use it?
